ECOLEAF: A Primer on the Green Energy Technology Void

There is a large gap between the technology that currently exists and the technology solutions that are needed to introduce a new era of clean energy creation.

We must take full advantage of wind, water, and the sun’s rays to generate viable energy to store and distribute power. Another trick will be fulfilling an ever-growing need for electrical energy in homes and businesses and the (eventual) need for clean fuels and electricity to power vehicles.

Unless changes are made, we may shape an environment that has an adverse effect on human freedoms, liberties, and ways of life. Temperatures will rise, which will lead to drier vegetation; for each one-degree increase in ambient temperature, there will be a 10% increase in fires ignited by lighting bolts. The leading cause behind these scenarios is the oil-based fuel that is currently used to create energy and power transportation. Every time oil and coal is burned, harmful pollutants like carbon dioxide enter the atmosphere. The environment is literally choking on our fuel-based exhalations: the by-products created by oil-based transportation methods combine with the exhaust from coal-, natural-gas burning and nuclear power plants to create a flow of harmful waste.

Reversing this trend requires finding new solutions. The first step in the U.S. should be to produce clean, green energy. Success means reducing greenhouse gas emissions to enable the U.S. to reach its goal of energy independence while simultaneously helping to stabilize the economy, eliminate dependencies on international oil, and preserve national security.
